I made a new friend - from Iowa - that was a Camp Adventure person. ha ha. Small world! But I asked her if she wanted to try a hike with me today. We were planning on hiking in Kamakura but I didn't look up which train station to start at and we went to the other one. So we decided to try a different hike while we were standing at the station. We were talking too much and not paying attention but we finally made it to where we wanted to go. And then just started walking towards the "mountains." We made it to 3 or 4 dead ends and had to turn around before we finally figured out where to go. We were gone from 8-1 and had a great hike followed by some Indian food after.
The hike ended up being in a big agricultural part of the area. Just 5 train stops away and we can pick strawberries, clementines, squash and limes. Can't wait for November to head down that way to pick the clementines or Mikan.
We actually walked over two mountain ridges for this hike.
This is the hiking course sign that we tried to follow multiple times before ending up in the right spot. There were so many paths throughout the agricultural area that we couldn't find the right one!
There are these little statues along the way that are supposed to look out for the hikers and the temple. We needed all of the luck we could get with the way things started. I should have left this lady some yen in her bowl. The ended up being a temple on top of one of the mountains. It is always fun to stumble upon temples.

looks like there are lots of things to do in Japan. Brings back a few memories. Miss everyone, but I know it is a great experience.
